123cargo celebrates 20 years

Administrative news |  29-Mar-2021

25th of April marks the 20th anniversary since the launch of our platform. This happened in Romania, in 2001, under the name of BursaTransport. Today, with a double brand 123cargo and BursaTransport, the app has become one of the European freight exchanges. It is accessed daily by over 20,000 users from 16,000 companies originating in: Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, and all other European countries, from Norway to Spain, from the UK to the Baltic countries.

Currently, 123cargo is part of the ALPEGA group, together with two other freight exchanges: Teleroute and Wtransnet.

“I am happy that I am able to celebrate this second decennial anniversary of my lifetime project, 123cargo. In 2001, I started from the idea of solving my communication issues in the road transport market, so that the intermediation chain generated by the “contact agendas” of each participant can be diminished. My own need, back then, has quickly proved to be the need of many colleagues. I have always kept the communication door open to all the users of our app and I continue to do so, beyond the current interests, which have turned an idea into a business. There are many cases in which new features of 123cargo were born from the dialogue with the users, which today are used for the interest and benefit of all. The fact that I was both a forwarder and a carrier, before being manager of 123cargo, makes the difference between us and many competitors. I want to thank those who trusted 123cargo in the beginning and thank all those who today continue to achieve value in the daily activity of our platform. It is the satisfaction of a fulfilled professional life.” – Dan Cotenescu, the founder of BursaTransport/123cargo
